Dark circles and puffy eyes can be a headache. This is an issue that many of us face as more and more people are finding themselves having more free time to be on their phones, laptops, PS5's, or just Netflix and chilling. I love bags but these aren't the kind of bags I signed up for! In this article we'll show you different tips and tricks on how to eliminate dark circles and puffiness from under your eyes.

What causes dark circles and puffiness?


Extreme fatigue, oversleeping, or even just staying awake a couple of hours later than you normally would can cause dark circles and puffiness. Lack of sleep can make your skin under your eyes appear dull and pale.


When your body is not receiving the proper amount of water your eyes could appear sunken in and your skin will look dull due to the close proximity of the bone. To prevent this, it's recommended that your drink 8 to 10 glass of water daily.

Eye Strain:

Staring at your computer, phone, or television all day could have an extremely negative impact on the well-being of your eyes and the skin around them by causing you to significant strain the eyes.

How can I get rid of dark circles?


Make sure you are getting around 8 to 10 hours of sleep and practicing good sleep hygiene to help eliminate dark circles.

Vitamin K:

Not only is Vitamin K beneficial for eliminating dark circles, but it also will result in a reduction of wrinkle depth! The best ways to get more Vitamin K in, is by using taking capsules that you can find over the counter at most grocery or health food stores. Also, under eye and face gels, collagen creams, Soybean or Coconut oils contains Vitamin K.

Rose water:

Rose water doesn't simply smell awesome, it can also relieve the skin as it is a anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Another reason to use rose water is because it will protect the skin cells around the eyes preventing damage. Simply apply cotton in rose water for a couple of seconds, then gently dab the cotton on your under eyes.

Apply cold cucumber slices:

Cucumber slices are affective because they can help to lighten the skin around the eyes due to the Vitamin C they contain. It is better to use cold cucumbers since cold compresses are also known to help eliminate dark circles under eyes and create more blood flow. The cucumbers should be left on your eyes for 15 minutes. This also helps with eye puffiness.

How can I get rid of puffy eyes?

Apply caffeinated tea bags under your eyes:

Caffeinated tea bags have been proven to help with the under eye puffiness because the tannin will help to constrict the blood vessels under your eyes, which reduces the puffiness and dark circles under your eyes. I recommend that you use a fresh tea bag, dampen it, and heat it up in the microwave for 15 - 20 seconds.

Aloe Vera:

Aloe Vera contains anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties which helps to eliminate the allergens which cause eye puffiness. Also, it contains Vitamin E which is beneficial for preventing wrinkles and fine lines and keeping them at a minimum. It will also help to flush out any accumulated fluids around the eyes.

Potato slices:

Due to the enzyme and astringent properties that this vegetable has, it can help to tighten the skin and reduce inflammation. Potato slices will also eliminate dark circles and wrinkles around your eyes.

Egg Whites:

Similar to potato slices, egg whites will help to tighten the skin underneath your eyes. For the best results, when using egg whites, you can use a brush or your fingers to apply 1/2 teaspoon of egg whites underneath your eyes. Allow the eggs to dry underneath your eyes for about 15 minutes, then rinse it off using warm water. It's recommended to do this method once every other week.
