The art of makeup, like every other art, is full of techniques and tricks to help perfect your work. Today's tips are to help you unlock the most secret art of them all, the art of bigger, fuller, more luscious lips. While anyone can go out and get fillers like the Kardashians, it’s not the safest or most effective way to ensure maximum lip gain with minimum damage. Here’s a good step by step guide to fuller and healthier lips.
Step by step guide to achieve fuller lips:
Prepare your lips for the care they deserve by doing some nice exfoliation. Massage your lips with a lip scrub which you can find online, at many beauty supply stores, or just make your own. My personal favorite recipe for a lip scrub is mixing:
1 tsp. of honey
1 tbsp of coconut oil
2 tsp of sugar
Add a few drops of any essential oil that you like for extra hydration (Optional)
This helps remove any drying skin flakiness and add moisture to your lips. You can also scrub them with a toothbrush if you want to go for a deeper clean.
Add some foundation or concealer to your lips before applying the lipstick. When you do apply the lipstick, I would recommend that you try to stick to nude tones to give your lips a fuller look.
Contour your lips. Using a shade just slightly darker then your main focus lipstick color. Line the outside of your lips (you can slightly overlay them to add an even fullness to them).
Next, with a lighter shade of lipstick, fill in the middle of your lips and blend the lighter and darker tones together to eliminate any harsh lines. This will help to create an illusion of depth.
Finally, don’t forget to apply some popping' lip gloss. Something nice and shiny to make your lips really stand out and look fuller among the crowd.
Are there any other tricks people can utilize?
Those are the basics of making up a set of full lips. Now the secrets out! Oh, and one final very important key to maintaining proper lip health, is hydration. Make sure to drink plenty of water to keep your lips from appearing small and shriveled. Water is the first and most vital step to the health of your skin and lips. Hydrate or Die-drate y’all.
